Midwest Road Trip Destinations

Pack your bags and roll down the windows for a few midwest road trip destinations! We're not far from some charming towns, so we've gathered a few of our favorite to inspire some road tripping! If you're up for wine tasting, brewery hopping, art gallery viewing, outdoor adventuring and more, then look no further!
Saugatuck, Michigan
It's no secret that Chicagoans love southwest Michigan. And, for good reason. In the summer, it comes alive. Saugatuck is a town just along Lake Michigan's east side making for some stellar sunsets. Be sure to check out Virtue Cider after a day of hiking at Mount Baldhead and swimming at Oval Beach!
Madison, Wisconsin
Meet the sweetest isthmus town you've ever seen. Nestled between two big beautiful lakes, Wisconsin's state capital offers just about everything you're looking for in a summer trip: boutique shopping, a great food scene, and incredible outdoor adventures. After you've kayaked on Lake Monona, head to Eno Vino on the square for the best views of the Capitol!
Dubuque, Iowa
Towns along the Mississippi River always have such charm about them, and Dubuque is no exception. Quaint downtown streets, beautiful hills and bluffs, and a lovely Saturday farmers' market you don't want to miss. Grab breakfast at Charlotte's in the millwork district before making your way to the Mines of Spain for some of the best views atop the bluffs.
Door County, Wisconsin
Another fan favorite for all of the best reasons. Door County has one of the best mixes for a restful midwest vacation, whether you're hiking at state parks or simply browsing the shops in town, you're sure to find your way to relaxation here. We'd recommend heading to Wild Tomato for wood-fired pizza before catching a show under the stars at Door Shakespeare!
